Yes, we know we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet, and the weather sure doesn't feel like December, but the Christmas party is only a month away. Santa checks his maibox every day to see if you're coming!

Ticket deadline Dec. 3. ****While tickets are available at the door, we cannot guarantee a present for a child if we don't know in advance.    (And now we're really getting ahead of ourselves-but please don't put your old Christmas tree or any other branches on the dunes!)

IMG_0066.JPG   Township Engineer Paul Dietrich reports that about 380,000 cubic yards of sand were lost during our recent nor’easter. Throughout the beaches about 100-120’ of beach berm was lost. The Army Corp and the DEP will make a decision in the next few weeks about whether they will fill beach before leaving the area, according to Dietrich.

Playground Initiative Nets Results! Your survey input helped!
Carol Ferguson of the SFEC,  took pix of our badly deteriorated playground, and Karen Mitchell, CFSWB President, spoke at a recent Twp Committe meeting about the playground survey results: http://www.shorenewstoday.com/upper_township/strathmere-group-says-playground-neglected-for-years-seeks-repairs/article_5805e688-7da6-11e5-95d6-8f468f9f3c51.html

As a result...Within days of the meeting, the rusted chain link fence along the bay was removed, as well as along the sides. New vinyl fence for the bay side is on order. Certified playground mulch will go down,  swings were repaired, and the sink hole filled. A new handicapped swing is on order and will be installed on arrival. Karen thanks the Township for making the playground a "recent priority," but reminds all this "doesn't negate the need for a complete playground makeover."
