July 11 meeting notice and other SIA/Strathmere news

1. Parade. Our little town was jumping this past weekend, even with Arthur raining on our parade. Judging of walkers and bikes took place in the firehouse and then the fire engines turned on their lights and sirens and drove along Commonwealth. Many thanks to co-chairs  Diane Cappellucci and Karen Mitchell. A somewhat soggy awards ceremony took place immediately following at the Deauville.

2. Please come. The first SIA (Strathmere Improvement Association) meeting of the season is this coming Friday. Come enjoy wine and cheese, and catch up  with your neighbors. After a brief business meeting, gain valuable information about planning for your future (and your kids') when it comes to keeping the beach house in the family. Fred Dunbar, financial columnist for the Sea Isle Times and President of Planning Directions, Inc., a registered investment adviser, and Common Cents Planning, Inc.

3. Dues. Your dues allow us to continue to co-sponsor the Christmas Party and the Fourth of July Parade, as well as this summer's beach party (and lots of other neat things). Once again, we are keeping annual dues to $10 per adult family member. When it’s time to vote, SIA by-laws say your dues must be paid in order to cast a vote. We thank you for your support. Please mail a check made payable to the SIA, PO Box 57, Strathmere, NJ 08248. Remember to tell us your correct e-mail address! Or, pay your dues in person at this Friday's meeting.

4. Fundraiser: To commemorate our winter's Snowy Owl, we've created a suncatcher/tree ornament featuring a photo snapped by Ted Kingston. We'll be selling them at Friday night's meeting for $5.00 each. Limited supply!
